Are you busy or strapped for time?

Do you feel that you should see a doctor, but don't feel like waiting in a crowded waiting room, only to have to wait another 15 min or so in the exam room? Then, when the doctor walks in he/she seems rushed and stares at the computer the entire visit. Let's face it, primary care medicine is changing..and not necessarily for the better. The days of really getting to know and trust your primary care physician may be numbered, especially with the expected increase in insured under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) effective in 2014.

Perhaps you are over the age of 65 and on Medicare?

Have you noticed how hard it is to find an internist or family physician? Despite some incentives out there from the Medicare Advantage plans and newly covered preventive services, the burden on most private primary care physicians is overwhelming. Frankly, many have given up and closed their practices to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries.
Suppose you have private insurance or employer-sponsored insurance benefits?

Like taxes, premiums seem to continue to rise. In fact, under the ACA ("Obamacare"), the insurance exchange will surely raise premiums of the middle and upper class. Office and procedural co-pays continue to rise. Drug coverage is a joke. The system is rigged for the insurer by passing off nearly the entire cost of medication to the patient by forcing generic prescriptions. The "prior authorization" process is onerous for the primary care medical practice which is already feeling pressure to see more patients in less time.

Think of how much you could save by opting for a high-deductible plan?  A typical family could save hundreds a month by opting for a catastrophic high-deductible plan and having their Cirrus Medical Network doctor for primary care issues.

There is a quandary between how medical care used to be delivered -- personal face to face visits billed as "fee for service", and the new paradigm of population management, quality measures, and the associated documentation requirements that no doubt burden the busy primary care physician and put them at risk for burnout.

Perhaps your long-time physician has already made to leap into a "Cash Pay" or "Direct Pay" or "Concierge" practice? Rest assured, he/she will be contemplating it as more and more of their colleagues are making the leap.

Is there a solution?

Here at the Cirrus Medical Network, the first and only network of its kind, we provide our members with a board-certified primary care physician (internal medicine or family medicine). Think of it as your real doctor in the "cloud". All correspondence is online, safe, secure, and HIPPA-compliant. Your physician is licensed in your state, so prescriptions can be sent electronically to your pharmacy of choice* (no Schedule 2, or 3 medications e.g. Hydrocodone, Percocet, Lortab, Morphine, Phentermine, Adderall, etc.). Cirrus Network Physicians are limited to 400 patients so that you know you will get personal attention. Note, that the average primary care physician has around 2,500 patients on their panel* (MGMA).

Your medical record is maintained in the cloud and available for you to review at any time. Progress notes, lab, and x-ray results can be forwarded to any physician or specialist. Since this is done online with messaging and videoconferencing, no physical exam can be performed. Of course, for some conditions, this will make it impossible to make informed medical decisions making. However, there are many conditions that can be diagnosed and treated without a physical exam. Having a blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeter, and a thermometer are encouraged, but not mandatory.  Cirrus Medical Network will provide these tools free for members who pay at least 3 months in advance.
